It was a sunhb.jpg warm day outside when Sally, a little girlhb.jpg decided to take her pet cutedoghb.jpgon a walk. Little did she know what was about to come. Just before she could walkinghb.jpgout of the front images-6.jpg, she tripped over her own pinkhb.jpg shoe images-7.jpg!! Of course you would think that that was a stophb.jpg that you shouldn't go on a saunter, but he girl thought nothing of it and went on her way. Then, when she was just a couple blockshb.jpg away from her apartment in the images-2.jpg there was a shout from behind a images-3.jpg and before she knew it her cutedoghb.jpg was gone! She was in total shock and started talkinghb.jpg for her dog, but there was no dog to be found. Just as she was about to give up and go to her images-9.jpg, her dog appeared before her images-4.jpg . It was the happiest and strangest day of her life. A day she will never forget. In the end, they live happily ever after, and she never had two.jpg lose her dog again because she now keeps it on a images-8.jpg (like the law suggests).

Letter To Self

I have changed my mind about a lot of things this year, not just about I like, but on what I hate too. This year I just realized how fun roller coasters were (how could I ever think they were scary?)! I think I have gone through outfit/clothing phases too. It’s weird because in fifth grade I wore a lot of headbands, in sixth grade I was in love with necklaces, and now in a dress phase. I don’t know why, but I just love dresses; they are airy, colorful, and easy to wear when you are on the go (not recommended for bike rides). I have to say, my favorite thing this year was feeling independent and trusted by my parents to have more freedom. Now I’m at the age where parents don’t have to sit with you through a movie, or follow you where ever you go with your friends. So, that makes me feel responsible which I enjoy. I have some things that I dislike, like having a phone. I thought it would be nice to have, but it just seems like a bother now. I hardly even use it!!! I also thought lockers would be awesome to have, but I have no time to make mine organized and cute, so that has been a let down too. I really dislike the no nail polish rule, but I guess I can live with that for one more year.
Even though I’ve known all of the people in my grade since 5K, I can honestly say that I only consider a few of them to be my true friends. Maddie and Jane have been my best friends for as long as I can remember. After we started this so called “Fashion Club” I knew that these two people would be the ones that I could go tell anything, who would stick up for me, and support me. I really hope we stay friends for life, but people can change a lot in high school, I hope that doesn’t interfere with our friendship. Emma and Katie S. are also two of my closer friends. We have had so many good laughs over the years! Going to movies, shopping, swimming, talking about boys, and the “popular girls” are just some of the things we do for fun. We don’t really need any of that stuff though, because when we’re together we don’t need anything but our blabbering mouths to keep us entertained. I think that’s how you can tell I you are really good friends with someone, all you need is them to have fun.
Waking up to the startling news of the earthquake in Haiti (January 12, 2010) and Bp oil spill (around May) startled me. But then there was the excitement of the 2010 winter Olympics! Haiti was already a poor country in dyer need up help and they didn’t need another problem. Seeing pictures of people trapped under rock and hearing stories about children left without any family to support them made me sad (about two million homeless). The girl inside of me wanted to cry. I’m glad America has been able to be supportive and help out as much as they have, I wish I could say that about the Bp oil spill. This didn’t physically hurt people, but it did a lot of damage. They knew there were leaks in this underground pipe before, yet they didn’t attend to it before it got out of hand. Just think, they could have very well avoided this whole situation. Many animals have died and been trapped this massive oil spill, which leads to people without jobs because there is nothing to fish for, which leads to no seafood to eat. The Gulf of Mexico will never be the same again. On a much lighter note, I would have to say that the 2010 Olympics in Canada this year were so much fun to watch. My family loves to ski, so I was excited to see all of the jumps, moguls, and down hill racing going on. It inspired me I guess, although I’m not that much of a dare devil to go high up in the air and complete about five twists, Hayden on the other hand would probably do that in a heart beat if he had the chance. I also always love to watch the ceromonies in the beginning and end, but I would have to say, I don’t think anyone will beat China’s. I could tell Canada tried hard, but China’s was still better. Oh well, better luck next time. If their even is a next time… external image 0clip_image002.png external image 0clip_image004.pngexternal image 0clip_image006.pngexternal image 0clip_image008.png
Classes this year scared me in the beginning, but over the whole school year I got into a whole routine and felt more prepared. Civics I knew was going to give me a challenge, so I made sure I studied extra hard for Mr. Carloni’s classes. Sometimes I even stayed up till midnight to prepare myself for a test the next day. What was I thinking?! I have to admit, it got overwhelming at times, especially before a big test. (Why do teachers have to plan everything on the same day???) Spanish was also one of those classes that gave me trouble; I think I just didn’t study hard enough for it. I mean Spanish is an easy subject, you just need to put in the effort, study, and you’ll do fine. After taking the placement test and getting into the lower math group last year I was disappointed in myself. This year math was so easy for me, I totally should have been moved up. I don’t think Mrs. Fyfe likes moving people up, so I doubt that I will next year even… Science I also one of those subjects where you just have to study and you’ll do fine. It’s pretty hard to do badly on one of Mrs. Savasta’s test because all of the answers for it are on our study guides. How much easier could it get!!! I have managed to ready some really good books this year. (The keepers are: Fever, The Education of Little Tree, The Mysterious Benedict Society, and walk Two Moons) It’s funny because Mrs. Best and Mrs. Lengell are the only teachers I know that actually read with emotion, the others are just monotone! Anyway, I’m proud of myself because my never dropped to a B- and I even got all A’s one quarter (I’m proud). The main activities I did this year were volleyball (our team sucked), track (my nerves got to me before every meet), and piano (Rita is the best piano teacher in the world; she’s so positive and encouraging). I also took part in ski club, which was the best part of my winter. Emma and I had some really good laughs and it was a great way to spend time with friends while doing one of your favorite sports. It doesn’t sound like I did much, but trust me… I was kept very busy.
Ever since I was younger, I’ve had in my mindset on becoming a vet, or maybe even a teacher. But, as I’ve got older, the reality of dissecting animals and being stuck in a school for my whole life has changed my mind, I think…
I would love to start my own creative business and become very successful on my own. I was even maybe thinking about becoming one of those pediatricians, family doctors” I don’t deal with much blood so I’m thinking that might just be the job for me. I guess it starts with your foundation. Homestead or Dominican High School are the ones I’m thinking about, and for college, well, I haven’t even started thinking about that. It just seems way to overwhelming! I hope I can make a few new friends and won’t run into trouble in high school. Just the word high school can be intimidating for a girl who has been stuck in a private school for her whole life. I guess only time will tell what happens.
